If you know us, you know we love to hike, and wildflower season is one of the best times of year to enjoy hiking in Arizona. Keep reading to learn about some beautiful wildflower hikes in our area.

Novice Hikers can enjoy desert wildflowers on the short and easy to
navigate Desert Wildflower Loop at the Desert Botanical Gardens. Community Day is a great time to check out the Gardens! Enjoy complimentary admission to the Desert Botanical Gardens every second Tuesday of the month.
In Scottsdale, the McDowell Sonoran Preserve boasts nearly 300 miles of trails, and several of them are great places to find wildflowers in the coming months.
- Start at Lost Dog Trailhead, hike to Taliesin Overlook and return to Lost Dog Trailhead (about 5 miles round trip)
- Start at Tom's Thumb Trailhead, hike Marcus Landslide Trail to Caballo Trail. Hang a right toward Rock Knob Trail and return to Tom's Thumb Trailhead when you get to the Gooseneck Trail intersection. (About 1 mile round trip)
- Start at Brown's Ranch Trailhead, hang a left on Upper Ranch Trail to Cone Mountain Trail, hang a right on Upper Ranch Trail to return to Brown's Ranch Trailhead. (About 3.5 miles round trip)
- Start at Granite Mountain Trailhead and hike the Granite Mountain Loop. (a little over 6 miles)
- Please find trail maps attached here, and find an experienced hiker to guide you. Wear sunscreen, layer your clothing, bring plenty of water and carry a first aid kit.
Take a short drive up to Lake Pleasant Regional Park, where they have over 18 miles of trails to hike. Enjoy the wildflowers on Pipeline Canyon, Beardsley, Wild Burro and Cottonwood trails. While you're there, stop in and have lunch at the delicious Scorpion Bay Grill; their food is delicious and reasonably priced. Find more information about the small entrance fees to the park here.
Usery Mountain Regional Park offers over 29 miles of trails that range in length from a half mile to over 7 miles. In addition to wildflowers, the hikes at Usery Mountain offer beautiful views!
Lost Dutchman State Park has several trails to explore. The views of the Superstition Mountains are spectacular from these trails! There is a $10 entrance fee per car.
